What is a warm roof?

A warm roof has the insulation attached to the decking and not between the rafters. In this type of breathable system, condensation can be minimised, and heat conserved within the property without additional ventilation. In flat roofs, a warm roof construction can be achieved using PIR insulation boards above the roof deck and beneath the membrane.
