PermaGroup appoints new CEO

A new chief executive officer (CEO) has been appointed to lead building products supplier PermaGroup.

With 30 years’ experience across the building sector, Kevin Williams replaces founder and former managing director Adrian Buttress, who ran the business for 25 years.

Buttress said: “It’s with immense pride that I hand over the reins to Kevin as I explore new ventures outside the industry.

“Kevin’s vision and experience will be instrumental in driving PermaGroup’s innovation, growth and leadership for the next 25 years.”

Major NHS hospital builds drone landing pad for urgent blood deliveries

During the project, CK Group Services cleared a portion of Guy’s green roof. Specialist roofing company PermaRoof Commercial supplied the contractor with 1.52mm-thick walkable interlocking synthetic rubber roofing boards made of ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM), which were laid on a waterproof membrane.

ROOFING solutions distributor, PermaRoof Commercial, has completed a life-saving project, creating a drone landing strip and storage area on the roof of the Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital, London.

Long-standing PermaRoof Commercial client, CK Group Services was tasked with the project as part of its ongoing work with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The landing area is designed to facilitate urgent blood samples being transported for analysis between the two hospitals via drone to avoid traffic across London.

An 18-year partnership has seen Elevate supply its 1,000th container of RubberCover EPDM to distributor PermaRoof UK. Elevate, formerly known as Firestone Building Products, has been manufacturing RubberCover EPDM for more than 40 years. The single-ply roofing membrane is designed for residential flat roofs up to 100sq m. Flexible and permanently elastic with elongation of up to 300%, it offers excellent puncture, tear and UV resistance.
