Commercial Team Supports Webster Roofcare in Factory Roof Repair

The PermaRoof Commercial team was called in by Birmingham contractor, Webster Roofcare Ltd to support a roof repair project.

The repairs to the specialist mineral processing factory roof required expert advice and careful planning to deliver a long-term approach and to keep the factory operational during the repair. Specialty Minerals, part of the wider Minerals Technologies, processes calcium carbonates for use in a wide range of products from paint to chewing gum.

The factory site in King’s Norton, Birmingham began to show signs of age, needing repairs to the roofing as a priority. With a continuous responsibility to deliver, this meant that there could be no downtime or interruption to operations while necessary repairs took place. It also meant that the company were looking for the best system to give them the reliability they needed for the long-term.

Webster Roofcare Ltd, the project contractor, called in PermaRoof Commercial to survey the sensitive site and deliver a report that encompassed the important operations and the associated health and safety standards.

Full support from survey to completion

From the site survey and core testing, our team’s report findings led to the recommendation of the P500 liquid PU waterproofing system. This was to overlay the existing asphalt substrate and provide a 25-year standard warranty.

The team remained on site throughout the installation of the system to provide technical support and to work closely with Specialty Minerals to ensure the safety procedures were rigorously followed.
