Case Study: Community Comes Together on Bowling Green Project

The premium product will allow it to stay that way for decades to come with little upkeep

The brief

After years use and enjoyment by the Awsworth community, the Nottinghamshire villages’ bowling green spectating area was dilapidated and in disrepair. However, when one of our long-time partners took the project on to give the green new life, we were happy to assist with its repair.

Andy Gallagher, owner and managing director of PermaProperty is a local to Awsworth village and heard about the unfortunate state of its bowling green from some friends. Wanting to give back to his community, he agreed to re-grass the 220 square metre spectator area as a favour. Because the work was pro bono however, the biggest obstacle the team faced was finding the materials on a limited budget.

The solution

Having built a strong working relationship with us over the past six years, and knowing our record for community projects, Andy reached out to us to see if we could be involved, and we were able to offer the full 220 sqm of FUN 28mm artificial grass at a well discounted price.

Not only did this make the bowling green look brand new, but the premium product will allow it to stay that way for decades to come with little upkeep required. Its versatile properties will be ideal for its purpose. This means the Awsworth community can get back to bowling right in time for peak season in summer.

To demonstrate their eagerness, members of the community also came down to help with the installation making it a truly collaborative project for and by the village.
