Our national commercial manager, Sunny Lotay, recently sat down with Rebecca Lees from Admiral to share his expertise on roof repairs and what warning signs to look out for from a tired roof.

Find out what to do if your roof has been damaged by bad weather, through to building strong relationships with local roofing merchants. Mr Lotay said: “If you can see obvious signs of flat roof damage inside your home, such as mould or black patches, then it’s likely any leaks may be quite extensive.”

The Permaroof team was in Oxfordshire this week and whilst there, we spoke with an academy, where our technical manager provided a full roof survey, about waterproofing options and answered queries about Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) proposals, and also liaised with local contractors who expressed an interest in joining our rapidly growing PermaRoof Registered Installer (PRI) scheme.

As part of this, he included a full roof condition report of his recommendations, which included a full thermal upgrade that can be completed to an incredibly high standard by our fully trained PRI installers.

Despite only being installed six years ago, we’ve been approached by Seddon Construction to reapply this roof – which will be completed by two of our PermaRoof Registered Installers (PRIs)

The PermaRoof Registered Installer (PRI) scheme has been launched to support the roofing industry skills gap and offers a clear way to track the level of training an installer has undertaken. This is particularly relevant in commercial roofing, where contractors are required to provide proof of training during the specification and installation process.
